Every RSF custom rod is built one at a time for anglers who demand performance, durability, and craftsmanship.

Our rods are designed around your fishing style, target species, techniques, and personal preferences. From inshore and freshwater applications to offshore, tuna, and shark fishing, each build is customized to meet your needs.

What's Included in Starting Rod Pricing

Our starting rod prices are based on a premium performance build using quality components and materials.

Starting builds include:

  • American Tackle, MHX, RainShadow, or RSF Series blanks

  • Standard Fuji, ALPS, or American Tackle guides

  • Two thread colors

  • Standard marbling (where applicable)

  • Reel seat installation

  • Grip installation

  • Handle adhesives

  • Rod finish and epoxy

  • Thread finish materials

  • Tape, razor blades, consumables, and shop supplies

  • Professional assembly and quality control

These builds are designed to provide exceptional performance, durability, and reliability on the water.

What's NOT Included

Starting rod prices do not include:

  • Decorative wraps

  • Open decorative wraps

  • Closed decorative wraps

  • Thread art

  • Custom EVA inlays

  • Custom cork grips

  • Custom waterslide artwork

  • Specialty components

  • Decorative guide wraps

  • Advanced marbling

  • Custom logos or artwork

  • Titanium guides

  • Roller guides

  • Specialty reel seats

  • Premium blanks

  • Customer-requested upgrades outside standard build specifications

These options are quoted separately based on labor, materials, and design requirements.

Decorative Wraps, Thread Art & Marbling

All decorative work is priced using a minimum labor rate of $40 per hour, plus materials.

Open Decorative Wraps

Starting at $200 per 6" section

Advanced Closed Wraps

Starting at $350 per 6" section

Marbling

6" Section — $150

Marbling may be limited by blank diameter, rod power, and application.

On lighter rods, marbling generally cannot exceed a 6" section due to weight, balance, and performance considerations.

Custom Grips

Pricing is based on design complexity, materials, colors, artwork requirements, and labor.

Custom Cork Grips

Starting at $150 - $300 per complete grip set

Pricing is based on grip design, shaping requirements, materials, inlays, and labor.

Decal & Artwork Policies

Vinyl Name Decals

One-color vinyl name decals.

Starting at $25.00

Small Vinyl Logos

Simple one-color logos and graphics.

Waterslide Decals

Full-color waterslide artwork.

Waterslide Restrictions

  • Metallic colors cannot be printed.

  • Gold, silver, chrome, and metallic finishes are not available.

  • Vinyl decals are limited to one color.

  • Poor-resolution artwork will be rejected.

  • Screenshots will be rejected.

  • Blurry or pixelated artwork will be rejected.

  • Copyrighted or trademarked artwork cannot be reproduced without written authorization.

All artwork, logos, names, and images must be submitted to:

RSF Customs reserves the right to reject artwork that cannot be reproduced to our quality standards.

Blank & Component Policies

RSF Customs primarily builds on:

  • American Tackle

  • MHX

  • RainShadow

Customers may supply their own blanks and components.

However, RSF Customs does not assist customers with ordering blanks, guides, reel seats, grips, or components.

As experienced rod builders, proper component selection requires years of experience and often 1-2 hours of research and planning for each build.

If you choose to supply your own components, you are responsible for contacting the manufacturer or supplier regarding compatibility, guide sizing, blank specifications, and component recommendations.

RSF Customs is not responsible for incorrectly ordered customer-supplied components.

RSF Customs is closed Saturdays and Sundays.

Consultation Policies

Consultation fees are non-refundable.

Consultation fees will be credited toward your custom rod order if:

  1. Your order is placed within 5 calendar days of the consultation.

  2. A minimum deposit of 50% of the quoted build price is received within 5 calendar days of the consultation.

If a 50% deposit is not received within 5 calendar days, the consultation expires and a new consultation fee will be required before a quote can be reactivated or a build scheduled.

Once a consultation has been completed, customers may not restart, redesign, substantially change the project, or change their mind without purchasing an additional consultation.

Scheduling Policy

If a customer fails to attend a scheduled consultation, arrives excessively late, or cancels with less than 24 hours notice, the consultation fee is forfeited.

A new consultation fee will be required before another appointment can be scheduled.

Build Updates

RSF Customs does not provide progress photos during the build process.

Custom rods go through multiple stages of construction, curing, finishing, and quality control. Frequent progress requests slow production and often do not accurately represent the finished product.

Customers will receive completed photos prior to final payment and pickup.

Blank Length Policy

All rod blanks longer than 7'6" will be built on two-piece blanks unless otherwise specified.

Customers requesting a one-piece blank measuring 8'0" or longer must supply the blank themselves.

Customer-supplied blanks must be dropped off near Shepherd Road and Interstate 35 South in Atascosa, Texas.

RSF Customs is not responsible for damage, defects, warranty issues, or manufacturer-related problems associated with customer-supplied blanks.

Pickup Policy

Custom rod pickup location is near Shepherd Road and Interstate 35 South in Atascosa, Texas.

Delivery beyond the pickup location is available for an additional fee.

Mileage Charge: $1.00 per mile beyond the pickup location.

No rods will be delivered or released until paid in full.

Payment Arrangements

RSF Customs offers 0% interest payment arrangements on approved builds.

All payment arrangements must be paid in full before the estimated completion date of the build.

No custom rod will be released, delivered, or shipped until the balance has been paid in full.

Deposit & Refund Policy

A minimum 50% deposit is required before materials are ordered and work begins.

All deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE.

Custom rod orders are NON-REFUNDABLE.

Once materials are ordered, artwork is created, production begins, or labor has started, all funds paid become non-refundable.

If materials have not been ordered and work has not started, RSF Customs may refund the labor portion of the order less any applicable restocking fees, processing fees, material costs, consultation fees, or special-order charges.

Lead Times

Custom rods are built one at a time and typically carry a 1-4 month lead time depending on build complexity, artwork requirements, component availability, and current workload.

Lead times are estimates only and may change due to supply chain delays, material availability, customer-requested changes, weather events, or other circumstances outside of RSF Customs' control.

RSF Customs does not rush builds to meet unrealistic deadlines.

Quality, craftsmanship, attention to detail, and long-term durability will always take priority over production speed.

Customer Agreement

By scheduling a consultation, paying a consultation fee, paying a deposit, submitting artwork, approving a quote, making a payment, or placing a custom rod order with RSF Customs, the customer acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to all policies, pricing, procedures, lead times, payment terms, refund policies, artwork requirements, consultation requirements, and build requirements listed above.

This acknowledgment shall constitute a binding agreement between RSF Customs and the customer.
